Junior Rifle Motto - "Dedicated to teaching lifelong shooting skills and safe gun handling"
The Junior Rifle Team accepts shooters from
ages 12-18. This rifle team studies and teaches the
three-position shooting stances. The three stances consist of
Standing, Kneeling, and Prone. Shooters use target .22
rifles. We
do provide rifles and ammo to shooters if needed. Instructors
work one-on-one with each shooter on all basic principles no
matter if they have never experienced this type of level of
shooting. If you have any questions about this
program please feel free to CALL instructor - STEVE STONER at 315-868-5188.
IMPORTANT READ THIS The end of the year JUNIOR RIFLE GAMES, this year were held on August 20th or 21st and start at 9am. Shooters had to be pre-register and have attended a minimum of 6 weeks of Junior Rifle to qualify for any awards and participate in the games. This year was a great success with 50 young boys and girls involved in the program. At this time we already have eight new shooters signed up. So if you have interest don't wait - SIGN UP NOW ! A fee of $25 whichwill cover all 18 weeks is going to be required up front, and is non-refundable. 14) Attendees must not miss three (3) consecutive weeks without a legal excuse as they will forfeit their spot with no refund. 15) With more than 50 kids interested in Jr. Rifle, a waiting list will be created. 16) Once again we have decided to apply some rules and regulations leading up to and attending the year end games. There are eighteen (18) weeks of Jr. Rifle. In order to attend the year end games you must attend at least 6 out of the 18 weeks to qualify. We will run every Tuesday from 6-8 pm. The year end games scheduled for either August 20th or the 21st from 9 am until done. We will require a pre-registration for the year end games. We recommend if you're not members that you consider becoming members of the the club. Family memberships are $50 a year. This gives you use of the range indoors/outdoors as well as fishing in the club pond. 18) We are also sponsored by Cpl Michael Mayne's family. Michael heroically gave his life for this country. He was an active member of the Fish and Game Club and went through the Jr. Rifle Program. Please take the time to thank Lee and Cathy Mayne for all their support. 19) As always we are looking forward to instructing your child/children and another fun filled year of Jr. Rifle. The instructor's this year will be Colette Dunham, Steve Stoner and Eric Joyce.
